While I was pregnant, many of my friends were busy getting knocked up as well. It was grand, we would all have babies the same age. Many of my other friends already had toddlers. Lots of women to bond with over something so life changing, lots of families to share time with, lots of play-dates to be had. Apparently…not…so…much. While there are a few people that share the same ideals as I, most do not…or not to the degree that I have chosen to follow. That’s fine, whatever...

So this past weekend I succeeded in skeeving a bunch of people out! First we were in a local diner and I was nursing…oh the stares, the stares, the STARES! So Saturday at lunchtime is not the best place to Nurse In Public (NIP), since diners are filled with “oldies” and they frown at such things! Ah well, Babe had to eat. Then we were talking to the waitress about solids (not sure how that came up), anyway…I was saying how rice cereal tastes like shit. She argued that...

My good god, it’s seriously amazing how much you can delude yourself into thinking you’re NOT THAT BIG until you take some real photos of yourself. NOT those flattering “myspace style” angled shots. Straight on pics, no pretty effects, no stretching, no cropping…So yeah, I’m fat. Never been this big in my life. I feel like my mother (that’s a whole ‘nother story there). I do NOT want to be the fat mom. I don’t want Alexa to...

My good friend Zoey asked me to write up an entry to be posted on her blog Good Goog.  I was honored!  She is the type of parent I aspire to be like and I am forever thankful that we found each other.  Her daughter Riley is a sensitive girl with eyes so blue they melt your heart. Please do head on over to see my guest post on how hard it is to be a baby!  Then backtrack and read everything Zoey has to say on unconditional parenting! You can also follow her on twitter here....

Monday we had a visit with Alexa’s great grandparents (Peter’s grandparents on his father’s side).  It was his grandmother’s birthday this past weekend and we had to reschedule our visit because I was sick on Friday.  They had met Alexa numerous other times, but this was the first time she really interacted with them.  Peter’s mother also joined us for the visit (as she and his father live just a few blocks away). They oooh’d and awww’d over how cute she is.  It’s...
